Mozart wrote of Idomeneo: “I may have equaled it but never bettered it” - can you imagine? He wrote so much of the greatest music the world has known and he thought this to be his best!

We think this to be the perfect vehicle for young instrumentalists and young singers alike. It is both challenging enough and manageable in equal measures. We want to show you what you can achieve without entirely terrifying you!

On the face of it, this is a story of Kings, Princes, battles, and deals with the gods - what on earth has that got to do with any of us? Just beneath the surface is the story of a father and a son - what does it take to be a parent? Would you risk the life of someone you loved for your own glory? And ultimately would you give up your crown for the greater good? These are all big questions but ultimately they are the questions that make us who we are.
